After a month in which we have seen the grisly murder of Jamal Khashoggi, the terror of 13 pipe bombs sent to Democratic leaders and CNN and the horror of the Tree of Life Synagogue massacre, we are once again turned in on ourselves to ask – what kind of world are we, what kind of leadership of that world is America providing?
Vice President Mike Pence has sent out “thoughts and prayers,” but we are beyond those now. Rather, it is time for thoughts and prayers to be put into action. We must reconsider the laws that weigh the rights of the mentally ill and of gun owners against the safety of society. And we must consider the role of those who spread malice wherever and however that is.
This is, above all else, a crisis of leadership, and we owe it to ourselves to elect the leaders at last who can confront the crisis without putting themselves first and blaming the victims.
It’s time for real change and to drain the swamp for real.
Vote.
